Stress and Anxiety

Studies show dealing with infertility is as stressful, if not more, than a cancer diagnosis.  Our bodies are made to reproduce and when they are not functioning properly, it affects our identity and self worth.  Having helped hundreds of couples conceive, we understand how stressful the process can be.  We lend a helping hand, an ear for listening and often a shoulder to cry on.  We can’t give you medical advice, but given our experience, we can often coach you through the process.  We also have resources to help you through like www.resolve.org and book recommendations as well.

And of course acupuncture. The 1997 NIH Consensus Statement on Acupuncture states considerable evidence exists that acupuncture:

  • Releases endorphins, the bodies natural pain medicine
  • Activates the hypothalamus and pituitary gland resulting in a broad spectrum of systemic effects
  • Alters the secretion of neurotransmitters and neurohormones, affecting mood and regulatory functions

Clinically, 85% of patients get profoundly relaxed during treatments.  They claim they “feel heavy,” “sink into the table”, and “its better than a massage.”  The relaxed state last longer with each treatment and makes dealing with the fertility journey much more tolerable.
